The votes are in. Telluride ranks #10 in SKI Magazine‘s 2011-2012 Resort Rankings. The pros: ”some of the most challenging lift-served skiing in America.” The cons: “notoriously hard to reach. Far from everywhere.” Us locals like to think of the latter as a huge pro. Hard to reach = no lift lines and no I-70 W traffic (which is a complete sh*t show). Sometimes in the winter Telluride’s almost unbearable getting to and from… BUT, the seclusion does make Telluride so much more unique.
Top Ranked Most Charming – “As you roll into this secluded box canyon, you half expect to see “Once upon a time…” inscribed across the ski in Old English script. Whether strolling the quaint main street, curling up by a roaring fireplace in the Mountain Village or dining beneath imposing, Alp-like granite peaks, you just might find your happily ever after.”
