Back to Sorrento

May 13, 2010

Wow. We will never visit a place as unique, tranquil, peaceful and magical than Ravello. We’re going to make our way back east and spend another night in Sorrento. A huge wildcard on the trip… Sorrento was one of our favorite towns. First, we stopped in the town of Atrani – Italy’s 2nd smallest town built directly on the edge of the sea. M.C. Escher used Atrani in a lot in his work, prints and lithographs.

Onward to Sorrento. This time we’re staying at The Seven Hostel – way more young and fresh, a perfect spot for college students. It’s located in the small town of Sant’Agnello… a suburb of Sorrento. We walked into town and got our last gelato and sightseeing fix. That evening we had some of the best seafood of the entire trip at Marina Grande’s Ristorante Bagni Delfino. We gluttoned over one last Italian meal of vino, mussel soup, limoncello and gelato.

The Amalfi Coast has been an absolute dream. We head to Pompeii and back to Naples tomorrow. Sigh.
